The Congregate Meals Program and Home Delivered Meal Service
These services are administered by the Senior Friendship Centers, Inc. Service is provided entirely or in part with funds provided by the Older Americans Act or Community Care for the Elderly under agreement with the State of Florida, Department of Elder Affairs, Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida, Inc., and Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners.
Home Delivered Meals - Home Delivered Meal Service provides meals to frail, homebound seniors. If you or someone you know are homebound and would benefit from receiving Home Delivered Meals, please call the Elder Helpline at 1.866.413.5337.
Congregate Meals at the Friendship Cafés - The goal of the Congregate Meals Program is to provide individuals 60 years of age or older a low-cost nutritionally balanced meal served in strategically located centers where they can obtain other social services. Besides promoting better health among the older segment of the population through improved nutrition, this program is aimed at reducing isolation. Anyone 60 years of age or older is eligible to attend Congregate Meals at the Friendship Cafés.
- There are no other eligibility requirements.
- There is no set fee, however, a suggested donation for the meal is requested.
- Congregate Meals are served five days per week, excluding holidays.
- Reservations are required 24 hours in advance.
Transportation may be provided to and from some of the meal sites for seniors who do not drive. If you are scheduled to attend a meal site and are unable to, be sure to contact the meal site manager and the Transit Division if receiving transportation.
