APWA AccreditationThe Public Works Department utilizes a skilled, engaged workforce to enhance the quality of life for Charlotte County residents by continually improving infrastructure and providing services in a cost-effective manner to meet the needs of the community.

The Public Works Department builds and maintains roadways, bridges, navigable waterways, stormwater infrastructure, traffic lights and signs, rights-of-ways and landscaping in unincorporated areas of Charlotte County while protecting and preserving the environment.

The Department further provides solid waste management including curbside service and operation of the landfill, manages mosquito and aquatic weed control programs and operates the Indian Spring and Lieutenant Carl Bailey Cemeteries.

Traffic Advisory - Peachland Boulevard Eastbound Lane Shift

The eastbound lane of Peachland Boulevard at the Crestview Waterway will be shifted north into the center turn lane, starting Monday, Jan. 27 through Friday, Jan. 31. In addition to the lane shift, the sidewalk will also be closed.
