Landfill Scale House (Zemel Road)

The scale house at the Zemel Road Landfill is currently a trailer nearing end of expected usable lifecycle. Additionally, not compliant with the County's Ordinance of not utilizing trailers as permanent operations. The project would move the physical location of the scale house and its ancillary functions of a convenience center and household hazardous waste. The project will also streamline the flow and control of traffic in and out of the landfill.
Sheriff District 4 HQ, Training Facility and K9 Unit

Construction of a replacement District 4 Headquarters Facility with a training component and K9 kennel/training area replacing existing facilites. The district office will utilize the prototype layout from District 1. The training building area will be incorporated into a single facility. The facility will be constructed at the Airport Road Annex site, replacing the existing Sheriff's Training, Supervisor of Election and old Transit Facility .
Supervisor of Elections Warehouse

Provide new 20,000 sqft +/- facility up to current code, meet needs of required climate controlledspace by the Supervisor of Elections. The facility shall include climate-controlled storage area for sensitive polling equipment and related supplies and support staff. Must be readily accessible and support staff needs for monitoring tabulation. Preferably house SOE administrative offices and serve public visitation in the same location. Includes 10,000 sqft for emergency managemnet and facilites.

Current facility is on airport-owned land with lease term up for renewal in 2023. Current building is a metal building repaired from damage in Hurrican Charley which is still suseptible to hurrican damage. It is not functionally laid out for current needs or growth. It is not designed or constructed to the needs of a modern law enforcement agency. E 911 will be colocated in the same facility.Riverside Boat Ramp Replacement

As part of the CMP, Community Services is conducting structural assessments on all piers, boardwalks, seawalls and boat ramps; through this assessment process it was bought to CS attention that Riverside Boat Ramp provides immediate safety concerns. During the site analysis the engineer determined the ramp could not be repaired in place; this project will be to design a replacement ramp that alleviates the safety issues.

Creation of park master plan and phase 1 development
The concept planis broken into two phases and Phase 1 includes the addition of a 9 hole disc golf course, a toddler/sensory playground to compliment the existing playground, exercie equipment, multi-use sport fields, a natural walking trail, modular skate park and sport courts. Phase 2 includes a recreation center, fishing pier, picnic shelters, a restroom and playground expansion. The recreation center will double as a storm shelter during hurricane season.
