Charlotte County Animal Control Transitions to County-Operated Pet Licensing Program

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (April 9, 2025) – Charlotte County Animal Control has transitioned from the PetData licensing program back to a county-operated pet licensing program. The change is effective immediately.

The decision to move to a county-operated system is aimed at improving oversight, streamlining processes, and enhancing communication between Charlotte County Animal Control and pet owners. The new system will ensure more direct management and better customer service.

Pet owners can obtain a pet license in the following ways:

  • Visit any Charlotte County Tax Collector’s Office in person:
  • Punta Gorda Location: 410 Taylor St., Punta Gorda, FL 33950
  • Englewood Location: 6868 San Casa Drive, Englewood, FL 34224
  • Murdock Location: 18500 Murdock Circle, Port Charlotte, FL 33948
  • Port Charlotte Location: 21229 Olean Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL 33952
  • Mail in your payment to:
    Charlotte County Animal Control
    26571 Airport Road, Punta Gorda, FL 33950
  • Please include a copy of your pet’s current rabies certificate
  • Include a check for the proper amount
  • Include a return address
  • Any participating local veterinarians

Pet license fees are as follows: For animals 1 year of age or under the fee is $17, while for unaltered animals 1 year of age or older the fee is $35. For altered animals 1 year of age or older the fee is $17.
