CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (May 30, 2024) – The Charlotte County Utilities Department reminds residents of year-round water conservation measures. Due to the extreme heat and lack of rain we are seeing higher water usage for irrigation. Compared to last year we are averaging a million gallons more of usage per day. Without a reduction in water demands, we may be required to reduce pressure within the system to maintain storage levels.
Lawn watering is limited to two days per week (if needed). Based on the last number in your service address:
- Even number addresses may water on Thursday and/or Sunday before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
- Odd number addresses may water on Wednesday and/or Saturday before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
- Locations without a discernable address, such as rights-of-way and common areas inside a subdivision, may water on Tuesday and/or Friday before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
Hand watering and micro-irrigation of plants (other than lawns) may be done on any day and at any time.
