Project Description
The Charlotte County Erosion control Project includes providing erosion control and shoreline stabilization measures including beach nourishment, maintenance dredge bypassing, and stabilizing structures for approximately 5,000 linear feet of eroding gulf and inlet shorelines immediately adjacent to Stump Pass. The sand removed by the Maintenance Dreding of Stump Pass will be used to nourish the beaches north and south of the pass. The project limits for this activity will extend from Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Reference Monument (R-Monument) R-18 south to R-21 on Manasota Key in the Stump Pass Beach State Park. The Project continues on Palm Island extending from approximately 1,200 feet northeast of R-22 along Stump Pass’ southern inlet shoreline and then along the gulf-front shoreline to approximately R-24.Project Location
