The Recreation and Open Space Element documents all of the public parks, playgrounds, ball fields, swimming facilities, community centers and other recreation and open space amenities available to the residents of the County.
The purpose of the element is to provide for a system of public recreation and open space sites which are available to all of the County's citizens and visitors. A park system attempts to serve all age groups, providing choices between activity-based and resource-based recreation and provides a geographic balance, assuring that facilities are not concentrated in one or a few small areas.
