The Coastal Planning Element, along with the Natural Resources Element, provides the underlying foundation for conservation and protection of our natural resources. The Coastal Planning Element provides direction and guidance for identifying, preserving and protecting the County’s valuable coastal resources. This element also addresses measures to protect human life and limit public expenditures in areas that are subject to destruction by natural disaster.
