One Charlotte, One Water Meeting March 27

Charlotte County has scheduled a public meeting for public input and discussion about the draft One Charlotte, One Water plan at 3 p.m., March 27, 2025 at the Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park Recreation Center, 6961 San Casa Drive, in Englewood.
Temporary Change to Water Disinfection Process

Charlotte County Utilities, in conjunction with the Peace River Manasota Regional Water Supply Authority, will temporarily change the disinfection process for its potable (drinking) water supply. From April 22 through May 6, 2025, the water will be disinfected with free chlorine rather than chloramines (chlorine combined with ammonia).
Traffic Advisory - Intersection of Flamingo Boulevard and southbound U.S. 41 Closed

Charlotte County Community Services will be hosting a public meeting at 6 p.m., on Thursday, March 6 at Centennial Park Recreation Center, 1120 Centennial Blvd., in Port Charlotte to discuss and gather feedback on the master planning of amenities at Deep Creek Park, Englewood East Park and Rotonda Community Park.

Charlotte County Imposes Burn Ban

The Charlotte County Commission has imposed a ban on all outdoor burning, including the use and discharge of fireworks and sparklers, due to ongoing drought conditions and increased fire risk.

Florida Division of Emergency Management Launches Statewide Residential Mitigation Program, Elevate Florida

The Florida Division of Emergency Management has launched Elevate Florida, the state’s first residential mitigation program aimed at enhancing community resilience by protecting private residences from natural hazards.
The Elevate Florida application portal is now open. Residents can apply by creating an account and completing an application at https://fdem-resmit.my.site.com/Elevate.
