A proposed land use amendment scheduled for consideration by the Charlotte County Commission has been postponed and will not appear on the June 10, 2025 Regular & Land Use agenda as previously announced.

Designed specifically for small business owners and entrepreneurs, this in-person event will be held at 18501 Murdock Circle, Room 203, Port Charlotte. Two identical sessions are available: 9–10:30 a.m. and 1–2:30 p.m.

Centennial Park Pool,1120 Centennial Blvd., in Port Charlotte, and Ann and Chuck Dever Regional Park Pool, located at 7001 San Casa Drive in Englewood will be serving as official hosts for the World’s Largest Swim Lesson 2025 event.
SBA Offers Disaster Relief to Charlotte County Small Businesses, Nonprofits Affected by February Drought

The U.S. Small Business Administration announced the availability of low interest federal disaster loans to small businesses and private nonprofit organizations in Florida who sustained economic losses caused by the drought beginning February 11, 2025.
To apply online visit sba.gov/disaster. Applicants may also call SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov for more information on SBA disaster assistance. For people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech disability, please dial 7-1-1 to access telecommunications relay services.
The deadline to return economic injury applications is Dec. 8, 2025.
